One of the most magical experiences your toddler can have at Christmas is to see Santa for themselves. There’s nothing more special than sparking their imagination and spreading some Christmas magic. And a visit to see Santa is an amazing way to get your little ones into the festive spirit. (And perhaps coerce them into being especially good!)

The National Trust boasts beautiful locations and great days out throughout the year. But this Christmas, Santa himself will be visiting many of their locations so you can meet him yourself. And if you have been good, you’ll get an early Christmas present!
Almost every National Trust site is hosting a Santa grotto this year. And many are offering other fantastic experiences, like a carriage ride to see him at Tyntesfield in Bristol. Or perhaps you’d like breakfast or supper with Santa? Several venues are offering the magical experience, and it’s sure to be one your kids won’t forget. This year, the garden centre chain is offering the chance to see Santa throughout the festive period at a lot of their stores. From Aberdeen to Ashford, Santa will be stopping off at local Dobbies and taking visitors. There’s even a great choice of gifts available for you to choose for your child to receive. The gifts are from big names, too. Lego, Playmobil, Sylvanian Families and Bigjig toys will be available for you to pick as an early Christmas present. The grotto events are from the 18th of November to the 24th of December and cost £9.95 per child, which includes their present.
If we had to think of the most fitting and best place to see Santa, it would have to be a toy shop! Hamley’s city stores are offering the chance to visit Father Christmas in a magical grotto set up in the party room of the shop. The festivities vary at each of the five locations, so make sure to check your local shop to see what’s on offer. But what’s promised is a magical time listening to Christmas stories, writing letters to Santa, as well as seeing the man himself. From festive fun and games, to gift bags and sweet treats to take home, there are lots on offer. The prices vary at each location from £19.99 per child, to £25. (Or £39.99 for the London store, which has already sold out!), This must be one of the best places to see Santa this year.
Wyevale Garden Centres made our list of our favourite places to visit Santa, and this year’s festivities promise to be fabulous. It also happens to be one of the more affordable Santa grottos, with prices at £5 or £10 per child. Although the World’s End store is more expensive at £12 each, it also includes a Winter Wonderland to visit as well as the chance to meet Santa.
Several Wyevale stores up and down the country will be hosting magical grottos where your children can see Santa for themselves, and receive a special present. But that’s not all! Because with each visit, every child gets to make and grow a magical Christmas tree they can decorate and take home. There are also spectacular arrival parades taking place on the 18th of November to mark Santa coming to the stores.
